Hanging jewelry organizers are very useful things to have around the house. Not only do they allow you to de clutter your jewelry collection they are also cheap and easy to make.
There are a few things that we need to collect before we can start to make the hanging jewelry organizer. The materials that we need are a piece of plastic or cloth sheet such as a tarp or bed sheet. A sharp pair of scissors, measuring tape, stick of super glue, sewing machine or needle and thread and or a hot glue gun, a coat hanger, and a pencil marker or piece of chalk.
After we have compiled all of our items together it is time to embark on the first step of making our hanging jewelry organizers. To do this we will need to cut the strips out for our pockets. Cut about ten of the strips the length of the main piece of material and the width of about four or five inches.
After the strips have been cut it is now time to sew them to the large piece of material. The easiest way that I have found to do this is to glue the four corners of the strip to the large piece of material. The way that I personally use is to line up the bottom of the strip with the bottom of the large piece. By doing this I get a level line of pockets. After doing this simply sew the bottom and the sides of the strip to the large piece.
The next step after doing this is to decide how big you want your pockets to big and to add the rest of the strips to the main material. This part is all up to your personal preference. I usually try to keep all of the pockets uniform and strips evenly separated.
The final step is where we add the hanging part to hanging jewelry organizer. This is where we add the coat hanger to the main piece of material. At this point every one of the strips should be sewn into the large material and made into pockets. Once this is done cut a small piece of material and cut a hole just large enough for the hook part of the coat hanger to fit through. Once this is done hem the material around the hole as to provide tear support for the hanger when it holds the organizer.
